Many families with children at Cockshut Hill benefit from the Free School Meals system, and it may be that some people do not realise that they are eligible. If you want to find out if you are eligible, please continue reading!
What Is It?
Students from eligible families receive an amount of money each school day which is added to their Parentpay account. Students then pay for their meals in the school canteen in exactly the same way as other students, so no one else needs to know.
Do You Qualify?
You can register your child for Free School Meals if you get any of these benefits:
Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The guarantee element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.
