Students will have access to a range of careers support delivered through a variety of ways such as interactive workshops, drama productions, careers fairs, employer talks, guest speakers, business mentoring and trips to colleges and Universities. All students will have a one to one guidance appointment delivered by an impartial qualified careers adviser in Year 11. Students can request a guidance appointment at any time throughout their academic life and students will be offered support at key transition points such as Year 9 options, Year 11 career planning and next steps. Parents are able to attend appointments and careers guidance specialists will be at parent evenings to provide any further careers support.
Students will be able to build on the knowledge and understanding of employability skills and links to the wider world, exploring what employers value and insight into labour market information, enabling students to equip themselves for the opportunities for their working life.
Students will deepen their understanding, participate in work experience, extend employability skills, maintaining high aspirations and explore further opportunities that are available to them; preparing ‘life beyond’ Cockshut Hill.
