Cockshut Hill officially relaunch the school library
Cockshut Hill School officially re-launched their school library on the 28th of April following work to upgrade the environment for students. The location of the library has been moved to be much more central, so it is at the heart of the school and easily accessible to all students.
The re-launch took place in the evening and all staff were invited to come along, along with a very special guest, Lucy Williams. Lucy was a teacher at Cockshut Hill School for over 35 years and she was invited back to officially re-open the library.
The event also served to commemorate her service to the school and as such, members of her family and many ex-colleagues of hers, over the last 35 years, were invited to share the celebration.
It was great to have Lucy back to officially re-open the library, so many local students owe her so much and we wanted to properly commemorate her years of service. I’m also proud of the work we have done to upgrade the library as it’s such an important space for our students. We are always trying to highlight the importance of reading at Cockshut as we know it benefits children in so many ways.”
