Careers in STEM from BAE Systems, The Royal Air Force, and The Royal Navy roadshow

Students at Cockshut Hill School Trust have had their eyes opened to the career possibilities of studying science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects.

MGA working in collaboration with BAE Systems, The Royal Air Force, and The Royal Navy visited Cockshut Hill School to deliver an engaging theatre roadshow celebrating STEM.  Aligned to the National Curriculum, the 50-minute performance inspired and engaged all their Year 7 and Year 8 students and staff.

The theme was Magnetism, and the presentation explained the integration of magnets, magnetism and electromagnetism in our everyday life.  With a continued shortage of engineering skills in the UK and lack of diversity across the engineering sector, the roadshow aims to inspire young people across the country, highlighting the exciting career opportunities on offer and how these relate to STEM subjects.

“At Cockshut Hill we are always thinking about the next step and this STEM roadshow was a great way to get our younger students thinking about their futures and maybe considering some careers they hadn’t thought of before.”
