Cockshut Hill kept its classrooms open this half term
Cockshut Hill School kept its doors, and classrooms, open this half term in order to support students in their final year with them. All Year 11 students were invited to come in and work with their teachers over the half term break as the school wanted to make sure extra learning provision was offered in the lead up to this year’s examinations. There were lessons which covered all parts of the curriculum and senior school leaders were also present to register and support the days. Some Summit Learning Trust staff also helped out with Education Director Vince Green (who is taking over as CEO in September) leading sessions on mathematics.
“I am delighted that so many Year 11 students chose to attend school during half term. I want to say a big thank you to our dedicated staff who gave up time during their holiday to support our students. Without their enthusiasm to provide more learning opportunities for the young people we serve this would not have been possible.”
